Terms of Service

Last updated 22 July 2026

These terms govern your use of Spec Layer, a Figma plugin that turns components into specification and guideline frames. The plugin is provided by Oleksandr Kurchev (the "Provider", "we", "us"), an individual operating as a sole trader. You can reach us at oleksandr.kurchev@gmail.com.

By installing or using Spec Layer, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the plugin.

The service

Spec Layer reads the components you select in Figma and generates documentation frames on your canvas, including measurements, states, anatomy, tokens, and AI-written usage notes. A free tier is available with no account. A paid Pro subscription unlocks a higher monthly allowance of AI-written documentation.

Accounts and license keys

Pro is activated with a license key issued after purchase. You are responsible for keeping your license key confidential. A key is for your own use and may not be shared, resold, or used across multiple people or automated systems. We may limit or revoke a key that is used in breach of these terms.

Billing and merchant of record

Pro is sold as a subscription billed monthly or yearly. Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record for your purchase. Lemon Squeezy handles the transaction, invoicing, and applicable taxes, and your purchase is also subject to their terms. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through the Lemon Squeezy customer portal.

Refunds

We offer a 30-day refund. See our Refund Policy for details on how to request one.

Fair use

Pro is intended for normal individual use. Documenting your library in a single sitting is fine. Automated, shared, or exceptionally high-volume usage may be limited under our fair-use policy. We will contact you before limiting anything.

AI-generated content

Some documentation is generated by a third-party AI model (see our Privacy Policy). AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete. You are responsible for reviewing generated content before relying on it. As between you and us, you own the documentation Spec Layer produces from your components, and you are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to the content you submit for processing.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Intellectual property

The Spec Layer plugin, its name, and its branding belong to the Provider. These terms do not transfer any ownership of the plugin to you. Your components and the documentation generated from them remain yours.

Third-party services

Spec Layer runs inside Figma and relies on third-party services including Figma, Lemon Squeezy (payments), Anthropic (AI generation), and Cloudflare (hosting of our proxy). We are not responsible for those services, and your use of them is subject to their own terms.

Disclaimer of warranties

The plugin is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the plugin will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Provider will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the plugin. Our total liability for any claim relating to the plugin is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your statutory consumer rights.

Termination

You may stop using the plugin at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms. On termination, your right to use Pro features ends.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, and the courts of Portugal have jurisdiction over any dispute, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections available to you where you live.
